Do you have a will?

The recent and sudden death of Michael Jackson and the subsequent discussion about the custody of his children and the disposition of his estate serves as a reminder that we all should have a will. Since Mr. Jackson did have a will, his wishes were documented and now can be carried out through a court and his executors.

The creation of a will is a relatively straight-forward process where an attorney will meet with you to discuss how and to whom you want your property distributed, whom you want to have custody of your children, if necessary, and whom you want to name to ensure these wishes are carried out.
Although there are several self-help books and forms available to create your own will, it is best to meet with an attorney to ensure the statutory will formalities are followed and that the will is properly executed. If you live in Minnesota and do not have a will, have any questions, or desire any additional information please contact Geiser Law, PLLC.
